Question: We were renting from the man who owes 1/4 house who also presited here as well...he past a few day's ago and the other owners cameand said We have to leave now....do we have to or do weget Some time to find new place to Live

Answer:

The short answer…it depends. It depends on the type of ownership the property was under. Just to give you an example;

Tenancy In Common
With tenancy in common, two or more persons hold title to real estate jointly, with equal rights to enjoy the property during their lives. Unlike joint tenancy, tenants in common hold title individually for their respective part of the property and can dispose of or encumber it at will. Ownership can be willed to other parties, and in the event of death, ownership will transfer to that owner's heirs undivided.  So, if the property is held in this type of ownership, then the surviving owners would not have a “stake” in that ¼ of the property and therefore could not make you leave.

Worst case scenario, you have to leave, however, the surviving owners would still need to go through an eviction process to get you out.
