Question: i was renting a house and it caught fire ,through no fault of mine,but i can no longer live in the house,what rights do i have as a tenant ,my lease is not up but i cant stay in the house what rights do i have to the propety
Answer: According to the landlord/tenant act (ARS 33-1366) if the unit is uninhabitable due to a fire that is not your fault you can "immediately vacate the premises and notify the landlord in writing within fourteen days of your intention to terminate the rental agreement". Your liability to pay rent ceases as of the day you vacate.
