questions & answers
Question: I was raped on the premises and they do not want to let me out of my lease. I am 8 days late as of august 1st 2014. I do not want to give them another cent and they told me they are filing papers in court august 10th. What can I do?
Answer:
There is a provision that states if you are a victim of domestic violence it is reason to end your lease early. Unless the rape was related to domestic violence it may not be a reason to end your lease. You may want to contact Arizona Coalition to End Sexual Violence at their AzCADV Legal Advocacy Hotline: 1-800-782-6400
