questions & answers

Question: I own a mobile home and rent a lot. I recieved an immediate eviction notice due to criminal acts. My 7 year old son was playing and broke a window on a vacant trailor owned by the park. we did not know until the eviction came. he is the only biracial child gets blamed for EVERYTHING. there is a boy a few doors down who purposely broke out windows on two trailors and set fire to the park grass and he's still here. there are other kids who have vadalized etc and they are still here. where do we go from here? is this discrimination?

Answer: If you are concerned with mistreatment by the landlord of a mobile home park, you may wish first to contact the Office of Manufactured Housing and make a complaint. Their website is http://www.dfbls.az.gov/omh.aspx. You may also wish to contact Fair Housing if you feel there has been discrimination. There website is http://www.housingaz.com/ShowPage.aspx?ID=133. If and when you are served with a summons and complaint in a special detainer action, you need to be prepared to appear in court with proof to defend yourself on the date contained in the papers. If you do not appear or are not prepared, the Judge may rule against you and evict you.
