Driving
questions & answers
Question: I got charged with a criminal speeding as a passenger what I’m I able to do and what can happen?
Answer: If you were a passenger rather than the driver, you should not have been cited with criminal speeding. Only the driver can be cited. If there was some confusion about who was driving, you are entitled to a trial as this is a criminal charge. Drivers cited with criminal speeding may be eligible for defensive driving school with the permission of the judge. Otherwise, the consequences can include jail, fines, and probation. Generally, if the speed is not too excessive, a fine is the most likely result.
