Question: the sheriff gave me a ticket 13-1201.a violation he did not take me to jail .the sheriff just told me to show up in court date i just want to know what this means

Answer: The charge is for Endangerment, which under the law is described as: A. A person commits endangerment by recklessly endangering another person with a substantial risk of imminent death or physical injury. B. Endangerment involving a substantial risk of imminent death is a class 6 felony. In all other cases, it is a class 1 misdemeanor. The deputy has the discretion to cite and release you or book you into the jail. The deputy chose just to issue the ticket. If you are to appear in a misdemeanor (city or justice court), you are likely only charged with a misdemeanor. If the court is Superior Court or Juvenile Court, it may be a felony. Chances are it is a misdemeanor as deputies would tend to arrest and book if it were a felony charge.
