Other Work Issues

questions & answers

Question: I work in the construction industry as a foreman and have to stop by the office most mornings and afternoons to look at project packets, file time cards, and gather necessary tools for the jobsite. The company does not compensate me for this time at all. Is this illegal? Who do I report it to? In addition, I was recently fired for complaining about this as well as many other safety issues.

Answer:
You may want to start by contacting the Industrial Commission at http://www.ica.state.az.us/Labor/Labor_main.aspx.  They would be able to tell you what you can do to justify the problem.  You may also want to contact the EEOC at:  http://www.eeoc.gov/.  These are just suggestions.  You may want to contact an employment attorney for more questions you may have.
