Unemployment Compensation
questions & answers
Question: Am I eligible for U.I. benefits if I am employed part time? My employer has reduced my hours to 25 or less per week due to the seasonal nature of the work.
Answer:
UI is based on what you made not on hours. Wage Information - Employers report your wages to the Department each calendar quarter. The wages from all of the employers in your Base Period (see below) are combined to determine the amount of benefits you may be eligible to receive.
Base Period - The amount of benefits you may be eligible to receive is based on insured wages paid to you during a one-year period called the Base Period (insured wages are wages earned from an employer who pays unemployment insurance taxes).
