Question: I signed a plea agreement in superior court, can I change my mind?
Answer: Please make sure to check the terms of your plea as soon as possible. Many courts require you to waive all defects in the case and even your right to appeal. Depending on the content of your plea, you may be able to file a post conviction petition (within 90 days of sentencing)due to "manifest injustice" (which includes asserting your attorney's alleged inadequacies as a basis for having the plea set aside). Otherwise, you always have an option to ask the court to set aside a judgment.
