questions & answers
Question: If a clinic was withholding my animal and i took them back and left, what legal action can be taken against me?
Answer: For assistance in your specific situation, consult with a licensed attorney. There does not appear to be a law or legal precedent that would allow them to file charges against you for taking back your pet. It’s important to know that you may be liable for the cost of procedures that were performed on your pet before you removed the animal from their care. If your animal was being withheld because of suspected animal abuse, it’s possible for them to report any suspected cruelty to the appropriate authorities.
