Question: i had two class 6 undesignated possession of narcotic/paraphanelia charges in 2000 I completed my probation and just got my charges designated to a class one misdemeanor can I work in the medical field? I used to be a cna before that, my licence lapsed but was never taken away because of this that's why I am asking.

Answer: Under Arizona law, it appears that misdemeanor convictions do not limit a person's ability to obtain a certified nursing assistant certificate. A.R.S. § 32-1646(B). However, if those convictions were originally felony convictions, the person may not be able to obtain or renew a certified nursing assistant license until five years after the felony convictions were discharged. A.R.S. § 32-1646(B). Consult an attorney for fact-specific information and advice.
