Question: What is definition of medically necessary transportation?
Answer: The ARIZONA ADMINISTRATIVE CODE defines "Medically necessary" as “A covered service is provided by a physician or other licensed practitioner of the healing arts within the scope of practice under state law to prevent disease, disability, or other adverse health conditions or their progression or to prolong life”. Along these lines, a medically necessary transportation might be defined as transportation that is necessary to prevent disease, disability, or other health conditions to promote the physical and mental health of others.
