Immigration/Naturalization

questions & answers

Question: My permanent resident card was stolen while on vacation. I am considering filing for citizenship, must I first replace the green card prior to or in conjunction with filing for citizenship? Thank you so much.

Answer: You may not need your card because they should have you on file. Here are two sites which go step-by-step through the process. If you have questions past this,  you may want to speak with a Immigration Attorney who specializes in citizenship cases. The second link is a flow chart/check list to make sure you are qualified to apply.
