Question: After 20 years we are looking to move back to the US from the UK. My wife has a British passport but had a green card when we lived in the US. We were looking to move over in September for the start of the school year but the Embassy in the UK is telling me that it will be 6 months before they even look at our I-130 petition, which I understand is only the start of the whole process. My parents are getting older and we want to be there to help them. Should we just come over and start the process (or reprocess) from the US for my wife's permanent/green card status?
