Name Change

questions & answers

Question: I filed to change my name and have a hearing date. Is it possible to amend the filing prior to the hearing to make changes?

Answer:

You may need to contact the superior court where you submitted a request for name change. They will let you know if the deadline had past yet to amend, and or make any other changes. It should be possible to amend your request and or “cancel”; however there may or may not be a fee, so it is important that you contact your court. If you do not know the contact information of the court you submitted your paper work to, then follow the link AZ Court Locator.

Click on the county where you submitted the paper work, and then you will find the Superior court for that county. If you know the name of the court, then you can search for it on this page as well. By clicking on any county in Arizona, you will find a list of courts in that county, and contact information for that court. Visit the main website to learn more about the operation of each court.
