Guardianship of Minor

questions & answers

Question: How can I get Immediate Temporary Guardianship of a minor when CPS from the reservation is involved? I am helping CPS, and I'm the next closest family member to the minor but I would like to get them with me right away.

Answer: o To apply for temporary guardianship you must petition to the court. To do this you can either visit your local Superior Court online or in person and go to the self-help center. Here you can get both the instruction packet and forms packet to file for the petition. Keep in mind to receive temporary guardianship you must not be the parent of the minor, and the guardianship will only be granted for a period of no more than 6 months. http://www.superiorcourt.maricopa.gov/SuperiorCourt/Self-ServiceCenter/Forms/ProbateCases/prob_pbgct1.asp
