I want to take my granddaughter to disneyland for a long weekend but the granddaughter's aunt says that the court has to approve her leaving the state first . Is this true ?

Answer: A guardian of a minor is has the same powers and duties as a parent. Under Arizona Revised Statute 14-5209, a guardian has control over the minors education, social or other activities and consent to medical or other professional care, treatment or advice for the ward. A guardian is not liable by reason of this consent for injury to the ward resulting from the negligence or acts of third persons unless a parent would have been liable in the circumstances.
