questions & answers
Question: My ex emailed me what appears to be a protective order against me from over a week ago but I was never served. What do I di?
Answer: Each Order of Protection issued by a judge is to be served on the defendant (or person restrained from contacting the other party). Contact the court listed on the protective order information emailed to you to verify that the court order is valid. Arizona law (ARS § 13-3602) states that “At any time during the period during which the order is in effect, a party who is under an order of protection or who is restrained from contacting the other party is entitled to one hearing on written request.”
