Question: How do I go about renewing my Order of Protection if there haven't been any new incidents of domestic violence?
Answer: Protective orders are not renewed. They expire at the end of one year from the date of service. However, there is no limitation on requests for protective orders. Arizona Rules of Protective Order Procedure 1(K). When one order expires, another may be requested. Whether a court will grant a new order of protection depends on the circumstances at the time of the petition.
