Domestic Violence
questions & answers
Question: What if my husband has control over my phone and computer with media scanner on them? i can rename a file or try to reset my phone or computer and all the same info are still on them. i have tried to do this with my phone while my husband is in another part of our trailer and he gets mad at me and says if i ruin his phone he'll break mine?
Answer: If you believe your situation has escalated to the point of domestic violence, an order of protection may be useful. An order of protection flowchart may be helpful in explaining the steps involved; the flowchart can be found here (http://www.azlawhelp.org/documents/OPP_Flowchart.pdf). You should be able to walk into any Arizona superior, municipal or justice court and apply for such an order. Each court building has its own procedure for these orders. But signs are usually clearly posted, and there are typically court personnel who know exactly where to send you if you get lost.
