Question: What happens if you have already been divorced for three years and then notice on your divorce papers your social security number is wrong?
Answer:
Under the new family law rules that took effect on January 1, 2006, SSN are considered "sensitive data," and should be segregated from the public record. See Rule 43, specifically Subsection (G)
A person can (1) filing a motion that asks the judge to redact (i.e. censor) all SSN in the judgment regardless of their accuracy; and (2) filing a sensitive data form that contains the correct information. (See Rule 97, Form 3)
