Question: I've received a copy of of an arrears calculation, it states my ex owes over $4000.00. Since he is not current on his arrears,I claim our every year for taxes until he is current. My ex disagrees with the calculations, what would be my next step? Or, whos responsable for cheking on the arrears calculations to make sure they are correct?

Answer:

The Arizona Child Support Guidelines, which are located in A.R.S. § 25-320 state,

"The allocation of the exemptions shall be conditioned upon payment by December 31 of the total court-ordered monthly child support obligation for the current calendar year and any court-ordered arrearage payments due during that calendar year for which the exemption is to be claimed."

If your ex believes that the arrearage calculations are incorrect he should call the court in the county from which your orders were issued and ask for the department that handles support issues.  If the orders are from Maricopa County, he should call the Family Support Center at 602-506-3762.
