Child Support
questions & answers
Question: if the noncostodial parent is on TANF do they still pay child support?
Answer: There is no "bright line" answer to this question. It is up to the judge to decide based on the circumstances of the particular case whether child support will be ordered. If the non-custodial parent has income in addition to TANF assistance, it is likely that some amount of child support will be ordered.
