Question: How do they calculate amount of child support one pays
Answer: Arizona Revised Statutes, sections 25-501 to 25-503 cover the duty of a parent to support his or her child. Section 25-501(C) states: "The Child support guidelines shall be used in determining the ability to pay child support and the amount of payments. The obligation to pay child support is primary and other financial considerations are secondary." You can find the child support guidelines and worksheet on the self-help center of the Court's website. Go to www.azcourts.gov and go to the self-help center.
