Child Support
questions & answers
Question: My baby's dad lied under oath about how much money he makes during the child support case. Can he get into trouble for that?
Answer: This answer is for general information only. To see how the law applies to your specific case, please consult a lawyer. A good resource to contact would be the Arizona Department of Economic Security: Division of Child Support Enforcement. They provide services, such as establishing the legal support order and enforcing the support order and collecting child support. They also have a packet for a request to modify the existing child support order. To read the statutes regarding child support for yourself, read ARS 25-320, as well as multiple other statutes regarding child support in ARS Title 25. ARS 25-1306 contains information about the procedures to contest the validity of the child support order. To read more about perjury, its definition and the criminal code, please look at ARS 13-2701 through 13-2707.
