Child Support
questions & answers
Question: My child lives with me for over a year now and child support is still being taken out of my check, what do I do to stop it?
Answer: This answer is for general information only. To see how the law applies to your specific case, please consult a lawyer. According to the Arizona Department of Economic Security Division of Child Support Enforcement, when a change in custody occurs, the child support order can be modified. This can be done either by asking the court to modify the order or asking DCSE to modify the order. Please read DCSE’s answer to this question. DCSE also has a packet that can be filled out to modify the existing child support order.
