Child Support
questions & answers
Question: My oldeest daugter is 16 and she wants a job, if she gets a job would I get less money from child support?
Answer: No. Child support is an obligation of the parents. A minor child has no obligation to support themself, and any money your daughter makes would not be factored into a child support calculation/order. The main factors that go into a child support calculation are: each parent's gross monthly incomes, the amount of parenting time each parent has with the child, and costs associated with healthcare. Any change in those would have an effect on the child support amount. You may click here for more information about Arizona's Child Support Guidelines.
