Child Support

questions & answers

Question: my daughter father owes child suppoort but he wants his daughter to live with him will i be responable to pay him child support.

Answer: A modification in child support may be requested when there has been a significant and continuing change within a household. A change in custody, which results in a change in parenting time, is grounds for modifying child support. Requests to modify child support are filed with the Clerk of the Superior Court. The Superior Court makes all rulings related to changes in child support. Pages 10-12 of the Arizona Child Support Guidelines explain how adjustments in child support payments are calculated according changes in parenting time.  The following link details how to modify child support and provides access to modification workshops.  For further inquiries regarding the possible outcome of a child support modification, please consult an attorney.
