Child Custody
questions & answers
Question: It has been almost 7 weeks since my child custody trial and we still don’t have a decision. What’s the expected time frame for a judgement? My ex and I do not agree at all. I am rhe only party who provided any evidence. What should I do if anything? Thank you.
Answer: Arizona Supreme Court Rule 91(e) requires judges of the Superior Court to issue rulings on matters taken under advisement within 60 days. However, heavy case loads and staffing shortages have made the deadline impossible for many judges to meet. If you call the court to ask about the status of the ruling on your case, please be low key and polite. You do not want to antagonize your judge.
