Child Custody
questions & answers
Question: Recently my ex has passed and we have a 13 year old that we shared custody of. I am not sure if I need to file with the courts or do I just take over full custody. I am her biological father and there is no one contesting me taking her.
Answer: If you are the biological father and the biological mother is deceased and you have shared custody in the past, you may not need to file anything with the courts. You should contact an attorney to see if there are any legal issues that need to be resolved.
