Child Custody

questions & answers

Question: my son was born in arizona, his father and I do not have any legal custody papers but my son has been residing in las vegas for the past 8 years. I want to be able to have my son visit for the summers or what not but I am not sure how to go about it, especially if his father is not willing.

Answer: To establish visitation rights, fill out the Parenting Time (Visitation) forms located at your County’s Superior Court. Here is the link to the forms for Maricopa County. Your County’s Superior Court Clerk, or your County’s Superior Court website, should also have forms to establish custody if you are interested in legally establishing that as well. If you have any specific legal questions, or need any legal advice, contact an attorney directly.

For more information, you may want to take a look at the Visitation Article.
