questions & answers
Question: im 17 and i live with my grandma. She has legal custidy of me. My dad died and my mom has been getting her life together and wants me to live with her. and i do too. I cant stand living with my grandma... what can i do, so i can live with my mom or someone else?
Answer: You are a minor until you turn 18 yrs of age. At that time you will be considered an adult and may then choose to live where and with whom you want. In order for you to live with you mom now, she would either have to petition the courts for custody of you, or you could file for emancipation. There are many things to consider for emancipation. Go to: https://www.azcourts.gov/selfservicecenter/Self-Service-Forms/Emancipation-of-a-Minor for information and the forms to file.
