Question: If I filed an order of protection against my wife but I have a court order to get my kids every other week end, will I violate my order of protection by getting them, if so will I be in violation with the visitation order

Answer: Please contact a lawyer for more specific instruction on how to handle your case. Generally, an order of protection needs to be followed. If changes need to be made to an order of protection at the time custody and parenting time is being established for visitation. The issue of the protection order should be address in Family Court with the judge, in mediation agreements, or with the agency assisting in establishing the visitation and custody orders.
