QUESTIONS

  • My ex-boyfriend was arrested in 2014 & sentenced to 4.5 year. I ended the relationship shortly afterward for many reasons including physical & mental abuse. He threatened me if I ever left him & tried to kill me twice. After his arrest, I became homeless & all of our belongings were lost. I have since met someone else & have gotten married. I wrote my ex in prison to let him know his belongings were gone & that I had gotten married & not to come looking for me or his things upon his release. I am afraid he will come after me.Is it possible to get an Order of Protection prior to his release?
  • I had a boyfriend move from another state into my apartment. It has been about 5 months, since he moved in. Things are not working out between us and I have told him that I don’t want to be with him. He is not on my lease and will not leave my apartment. I have told him several times to leave and even told him he had 30 days to get out of my apartment. He is verbally abusive and scares me. How do I get him out of my home? Can I legally change the locks when he is not there?
  • i have a problem with my next door neighbor, we have a connecting back block wall that a root of his tree damaged the footing, and his wall because it is connected is damaging my wall and getting very dangerous, my grandkids play in the back yard and i have a pool. i have repeatedly asked him to have the wall fixed and he ignores me. if he doesnt want to fix his wall so be it, but i want him to fix my wall before it goes over.. thank you for your time i hope you can help me in this matter.
  • Our tenant moved out on November 29, having not paid part of October, or November. There are extensive damages to the house that exceed their security deposit. They have said that they do not have money to pay us the back rent, or for the damages above the security deposit. I'm thinking of going to small claims court for the back rent, and then going to Superior court for the damages above the security deposit in the not to distant future. Is that legally acceptable? I am in the process of collecting quotes for repairs. Thank you!
