    "And Justice For All…"

The last four words of the Pledge of Allegiance, something we’ve all recited countless times since we were young.

During the last 50+ years in Arizona, legal aid programs have helped more than a half a million of our neighbors, friends, and family receive the justice and help they needed to resolve a legal crisis related to their housing, family safety, healthcare, employment, or economic stability.

It′s time to stand up and fulfill our pledge for ‘justice for all’. We need more equal access to justice, not less.

Add your name to the list of legal aid champions above and support our efforts to increase civil legal assistance in Arizona. We need your help!

How Legal Aid in Arizona
Makes A Difference

Legal aid programs in Arizona provide free help in the civil legal system in matters such as housing to prevent foreclosure, family law including child support, assisting employees retrieve wages owed, and helping veterans access their benefits.

Each year, more than 35,000 Arizonans receive free legal help from one of Arizona’s legal aid organizations – Community Legal Services, DNA People’s Legal Services, or Southern Arizona Legal Aid.

Arizona′s legal aid organizations and their Volunteer Lawyers Programs are the largest coordinator of pro bono legal assistance in the state. Each year, legal aid programs match more than 3,500 low income Arizonans with volunteer attorneys for free legal help.

In 2016, legal aid organizations closed over 13,000 cases, of those cases closed:

* more than 6,700 victims were domestic violence victims receiving free legal help to protect themselves or their children from violence,
* more than 2,800 were cases with individuals with disabilities,
* 500 cases were for veterans and service members to have their legal needs met,
* and, in more than 1,500 cases the clients were over the age of 65.
