QUESTIONS

  • Can a landlord cut services previously supplied when your rent is paid up for 1 year ahead especially after a rent increase. for example internet services, cable, drinking water
  • One of my roommates (cotenants) moved out of our house. We still have 5 months of the lease left. The 2 of us left dont feel comfortable living with a stranger. The agreement we had originally was wed split the rent equally and all of the utilities. The roommate who left, still has possession of keys to house and her belongings there. What are my rights to get the rest of her rent paid?
  • I moved out of my rental home 2 months ago, 6 months prior to my leasr end date. It was agreed upon mutually by myself and landlord that I could break the lease, as the home was in short sale and an offer had been made on the hone. Today I get an email from my landlord stating that the short sale did not get approved and they are asking for me to pay to have the carpets cleaned, both the front and backyard landscaped and the home cleaned. First off, the home was cleaned when we left and the yard was fine. Can they ask for this to be done 2 mos later because their deal fell through?
  • I am renting a home from a Out of state owner our lease states that rent is due on first of each month.Owner Has us send checks for rent to Wifes' Mother that lives about ten miles away.If we send check out in mail when is it considered sent.If its been stamped at post office around end of previous momth is it considered sent owner insists rent is due on 1st regardless of holidays weekends etc.. insists instead of mailing it out I have to run it to her mother which is out of way to from & from work.Do I have any legal backing as far as this is concerned hard to find info.
  • My landlord gave me a noise complaint and unauthorized tenant notice on April 11, 2018 . I asked landlord, who is the unauthorized occupant. She said your son. I assured her that , my son do not live here, buy he is my babysitter while I'm at work. Then on May 4, I went into pay rent , The landlord received my rent. I asked her how is the noise, she stated it have not gotten any better and you totally disregard the 10 day for having an unauthorized occupant. I told her I told you my son do not live here. The landlord said he is always here and I told her , yes, because I'm always at work.
  • We had no electric in one room of our rental for 9 months. It would sometimes flicker when we jumped on the floor or slammed the door. We contacted the landlord several times to repair it. We have several text messages stating such. The cost to repair was more than 50% of our rent. We gave our 30 day notice on July 2 for August 1st after months of trying to get this repaired. Our landlord checked us out on Aug 1 stating everything was perfect and we would receive all of our deposit back in 14 business days. Our total deposit was $1850- we received $300. They stated we did not give them notice.

Then a few days later she came to me and told me I need to get out because she had found out about an old landlord who gave me a bad review. I didnt lie on my application i gave her two years back even thou she asked for five. she didnt say anything about it and approved my application. Does she have any right to evict me?
