QUESTIONS

  • My husband and I have been married for 19 years. Common Law for 4 years and 14 years Legally Married (State of NM). We have been separated for 3 months, if I decided to divorce my husband my reason is "Adultery". We have a State Marriage Licence and we married in Navajo Nation Court. Do I file with the State of New Mexico or Navajo Nation. We have 2 children therefore child support will be filed. And can I charge my husband and his companion with "Adultery"?
  • I allowed an ex to move back in while she "got on her feet." She has never paid rent or utilities and we have no written agreement altho it was understood at the time to be a short-term favor. It is now over 2 years and she says she doesn't want to move out until she can afford her own place. When we met 3 years ago she was renting a room in a house which is what I am suggesting she do again now - what are my legal options in terms of requiring her to move out?
  • I am 74 with over $30,000 in CC debt. How do I get out of debt so I can retire. I work fulltime, but afraid of unexpected health problems. My husband has less than $800 per month from SS. I have no other debt other than CC and household expenses. Own 3 late model cars and home which are all paid for in full. I have enough life insurance to pay off my debt, but bad health could put me and my family in trouble. What to do?
  • I work in outside sales. For a number of years my employer has deducted shipping costs from my commission for all accounts outside the metro area. Recently they have begun deducting the % of $ credit charges cost from my commission as well. They deduct this before my paycheck is cut. For example they show me a spreadsheet with my compensation as $7000.00 -500 shipping -500 cc fees (and sometimes other deductions) = $6000.00 since these fees are deducted can i write them off on taxes and is this even legal?
  • My baby's mom passed away before we could get married and put my name on the birth certificate. Now after all of this and her grandma promising to help me get custody, she decides she will take my daughter and move to Kansas. Question here is what should I do to get things done so I can have my daughter?
  • My husbands ex wife took out a loan on him without his permission and him being there. Is there any criminal or legal options to pursue her or is this something we have to civilly approach?
  • Can my landlord decide to require payment online through a 3rd party that was not available at the time the lease was signed? Can I refuse to provide my personal bank information to said 3rd party?
  • My husband is going to prison, we have a three year old and one more on the way. He is our sole income provider, will I be able to get any kind of income support while he is gone??
