QUESTIONS

  • We are schedule to move out on 1/31/08. Landlord has offer to have a mock walk thru on 1/24 to let us know of anything she notices that would need fixing. We are then having the final walkthru on 1/31/08. She may not catch all items until after 2/1/08 when she is cleaning, etc. Is this true that she can go back after our final walkthru and find things without us being there and after the fact?
  • I live in a mobile home park where i purchased a trailer for 5000$ after i bought the trailer we noticed we do nit have gas. I discussed this with the landlord and he discovered it was a bad gas line. We have not had gas for months the land lord is not fixing the problem I have no heat hot water or gas to cook with. Am I able to with hold rent? and if i have to leave the property can I be reimbursed for the trailer?

  • My ex has sole custody of my 17 year old daughter. In November 2010, my daughter spent 2 weeks in residential treatment for cutting. When my daughter was discharged from treatment, it was recommended she participate in more treatment, my ex is not following thru with this. My daughter sounds they way she did whenshe was cutting, I am worried w/o treatment she will hurt herself. Can I file for emergency custody? Called CPS but they are not sure if they will bebable to respond timely. Can I file the one where my ex is not served? Not sure if the situation meets the criteria for that?
  • I have sent two emails to my landlord and a letter with rent asking for a leak to be repaired. I have not received a call or email back to schedule the repair. I know the letter was received because rent was cashed. What options do I have to get the leak repaired?
  • 2 of the burners on my stove have gone out. I notified management who is just going to replace it instead of repairing it. They sent someone to remove the stove on Thursday 9/24/15. It is now Saturday 9/26/15 and we have no stove. The vendor says it will be Tuesday 9/29/15 before we have a stove. Can i turn in receipts for food expenses while we are without a stove? Rent is due on 10/1/15 and I'd like to subtract a reasonable amount from my rent for these expenses since I can't cook at home.
  • I moved out my rental unit about three weeks ago. Two other people applied for the apt however plans fell through and only I ended up moving in.I paid for the deposit, and made all monthly payments. I received my check for move out refunds for amount of less than 200, but I’m unable to deposit or cash it since it’s made out to all three parties who applied initially. I contacted the office twice and emailed numerous times with no response back. All three people Who applied are Included in lease but did not sign or ever lived in the unit. Landlord will not return callWhat can I do, need advise.
  • I was evicted for nonpayment of rent March 31. April 2, I notified landlord with letter stating demand for whereabouts and costs for moving and storage of my property. Landlord replied with "when you pay me what you owe, plus moving and storage expenses, then we will talk." Landlord then gave me a $4500 moving and storage bill (her handwriting) in which same moving company quoted me no more than $1800. On the 20th day we contacted landlord where she said it is considered abandoned and that if we contacted her anymore she would file harassment charges on us. What do we do?
  • I'm a father of 3 little girls my oldest 9yrsold from previous marriage.my other 2 babies with the mother is a full fledged narcissistic women,my kids and I would see her rage daily over disagreements, couldn't question her. Once u call her out on truth of her wrong doing , from lying her where about to doing things to my girls. She got caught cheating,now kids taken away from me? I need to know if my youngest is mine?

I am getting death threats regarding an my girlfriend's ex who has a history of domestic violence. If he knows this information and knows our whereabouts he will take action against it and has no care in the world for the reprocussion of the law including his own life.
