QUESTIONS

  • I have been approved for AHCCCS/ALTC, can I now receive food stamps?
  • My younger cousin who calls me aunt has been arrested And cps has gotten involved. Although her daughter has already been living here for 6 months they say I need guardianship of the child and need it by the next day or they will have no choice but to take guardianship of her while they say she can still live with me. My question is would it be easier to get the child's mother (and legal ) to sign over guardianship or to go through the courts which is going to cost me 350$ and will take weeks to get a court date?
  • Can my landlord shut off the water to my apartment for maintenance without giving me any notice? Also, is it acceptable that this is happening a couple times a week for a couple of months now?
  • The mother of my daughter lives with an abusive boyfriend and his 5 children. I currently have joint custody of my daughter and a split parenting plan. My daughter is being emotionally abused and has been required to see a therapist for physically hurting herself (she is only 8). The therapist told me I need to keep her out of that environment but I can't find any real information on emergency legal decision making and parenting time change in Pima county. The mother has threatened to move out of the country with my daughter if I try to take her back to court. What can I do??
  • How can I request permission to move counties? I currently live in Maricopa County, wanting to move to Pinal County with my children and fiancé, but not sure how to receive permission from judge or other parent. Is it possible to be told "No" and we have to stay here forever?
  • Is it possible to have a criminal case transferred from one municipality to another? or may a case be moved from municipal court to city court?
  • My ex-wife and I have joint physical and legal custody of our two children. I carry their health insurance, by court order. My ex-wife has issues with our son at home, which we do not experience in our home. He has anger and agression issues, and is now acting out at school. She took him to a therpist who recommened he be medicated, and she wants him medicated as well. I do not support this, but she said I do not have a say in the situation. She will not provide me with the name of the doctor or drug. Can I file something with the court to keep my son from taking the medicine?
  • Am I allowed to ask if a prospective tenant has been arrested/convicted and what for?
  • I own 2 mobile homes in a mobile home park. One of them I live in and the other I bought and was fixing it up and was going to make plans on what to do with it. I got behind on lot rent on the other place by a month and before the next month they had me in court evicting me. In a week after that that they broke into the place and changed the locks. Within the month the sold it and I am the owner and have a title. I was in process of trying to sell it so I could pay the back rent and make some money back on it. Never given any notice that this was there intent. What do I do too stop this.
  • I have a 9 year old child and share custody with her monther from whom I am divorced. I am now applying for social security benefits and have learned that my child is eligible for benefits. Since I have my daughter almost 50% of the time and maintain a residence where she has a separate room, clothing and articles, would the benefit paid to the child go to the mother? I don't feel this is fair since I am responsible for her medical expenses, child support, etc. Can you please advise.
