  • I rent a room in my house with only a verbal contract, contract was month by month and only agreement was to pay rent within the first week of the month and to take care of her dogs. In approximate 5 months rent was never paid on time and dogs destroyed other individual property, owner refused responsibility for damage, I asked her to leave the house with a 3 weeks notice and she refused saying she will be out after Christmas. I have texts from her saying she will be late with the rent and witnesses about the damages her dogs caused. Please advise how should I proceed.

I want to take the glass company to small claims court to see if i can get resolution for the cost of the damages the paper work ask if this is a contract or tort. I did not sign a contract with the glass company so I'm confused as to what to use for the type of claim on the paper work.

They showed up on the 23rd and I was told that they already gave me notice and that because it took longer than expected it just rolled over to the next day.
