QUESTIONS

  • When renting month-to-month after a regular one year lease in an apartment what is the amount of notice rquired by law in order to vacate without penalty.
  • Isnt there a law that states how much you can charge rent by square footage? I ask because its seems to be ridiculous to charge $650 for a 350 sq ft studio.
  • I paid two weeks rent at a week to week rental property. (I have receipt) Lease is verbal and is based on a publicly posted advertisement. IIt was agreed that deposit and rest of monthly rent would be paid in cash in 13 days. I left a check to show good faith and landlord agreed to not cash check. I went to house the next day and was told I was evicted and landlord would not honor our agreement. I was not given any written notice. This has cost me hundreds of dollars in hotel room costs as well as otherother costs not anticipated. What should I do?
  • We've been living with my boyfriends parents and we're paying rent every month. This month we paid rent, then 2 days later we were given the rent money back and told us we have 30 days to find somewhere else to go. Then 2 weeks later they decided to let us stay and are now asking for rent money again for this month. (and we are going into an apartment next month "July") Any advice on what to do would be great!
