  • I need an extension of time to answer a motion for summary judgment filed by the Dept of Justice. How do I request an extension?

  • I received a notice from the IRS saying that they will levy my Social Security check for non-payment of taxes. I am 70 years old. My only source of income is Social Security of $1798 per month. I have no assets. I live in an Assisted Living facility which I pay room and board of $1649 from SocSec and ALTCS benefits pay the balance. I am left with $109 per month for personal needs. Can the IRS levy 15% of my Soc Sec? How do I stop this levy?
  • Can they call you 3 times with 1 minute?
  • When a spouse passes away and has debt in his/her name only, like credit cards, and or contractual obligations for satellite services or cell phone service that charge fee for early termination, etc.- is the remaining spouse responsble for that debt and fulfilling contractual obligation?
  • I was late on payments on my car so the tow company came and took my car. Now there are telling me that I have to pay for my personal belongings in the car can they do that.
  • I had a tax # when I lived in IN.I never used this number but the state placed a lien on my credit.I finally had this released but just last week I was called by a credit collections agency, saying I owed this still. they have called me 5 times in 5 days and lied on the messages left, says that my number was listed as a reference for a family member or friend? asked me to call them.I think this is harrasment and fraud for the lies left on vm?
  • My car was repossessed back in 98. I have recently recieved court papers stating there is a judgemnt against me. How long do creditors have to try to collect a debt? Does it depend on if they keep selling the debt to different creditors?
  • Can a credit card company sell thier old receivables/ debt for a lessor amount and the new so collection company collect at the old debt rate?
