I was arrested when I told the officer that I hit my ex-boyfriend. He had thrown a blanket over me and grabbed me. I fought back out of fear. My roommate intervened and my ex left before the police arrived. My ex threatened me if I told the police anything that got him in trouble, so I didn't know what to tell them. I got arrested because I said I hit my ex. My ex gave no statement, hasn't been in contact with the prosecutor, and there isn't any evidence that I did anything but protect myself. My roommate was there and is a witness. Can I possibly be found guilty for protecting myself?

If you are under a deferred adjudication on domestic violence charges are you still allowed to purchase a firearm. Went to court was put on a "deferred sentencing" which stated charges would be dropped after I completed program. Was never told to relinquish my current firearms and was never told that I could not purchase any. Just curious of your thoughts. Thanks You

I am currently going through a divorce, where there is no custody established, and am pregnant. I have been put on strict bedrest. I am trying to move to Nevada where I will have more help from my older children's father and be able to be on bedrest like I'm supposed to. Would I be able to file a petition for relocation with a minor, and temporarily move before the 60 days, without getting in trouble for it. And will it effect how they decide custody. Also, I have a PO against the other parent, and there has been domestic violence toward me and the children during our marriage.

I and my daughter have not seen my husband in 5 years. She is 6. He was abusive but never arrested because he was good at abusing without leaving marks and lying. He has taken steps to hide his whereabouts and stated that if he had to pay child support he would take custody. I have been with my current fiancé for about 3 years and he would like to adopt her. Can he do that before the divorce?

Is therea statute to limititations toproviding evidence, specifically witness testimony(several)of eye witness observation of thedomestic violence perpetrator ?Specifically incidents happened about 3 years ago . One party (With the witness testimonies) has consistently voiced the occurence ofdomestic violence in court hearings regarding child custody cases . While the other party has consistently denied it . Concerns have been reviewed and the perpetrator has managed to elude all agencies of thisproblem ( which is now goingonwith his new live in partner in front of the children(not the witness

I call the cops on my boyfriend and I lied to them saying that my boyfriend hit me and he did not he is now in jail how do I correct this. It all started because he brought some female car to our house to do oil change. I started the argument and the fight I threw chair at him he blocked it where it came back and hit me in arm.

My husband has had 2 work related injuries where he suffered concussions, traumatic brain injuries & frontal lobe brain injury. Over time, his personality is changing for the worse & he's constantly verbally abusining me & my daughter & he completely loses his temper over nothing. Now he's threatening to open a new account for his SSD income & for the work comp annuity which is the majority of our income. He says he wants a divorce & is going to get an apartment & he's going to stop making the house payments. I know this is due to his TBI but what can we do to protect ourselves?
