QUESTIONS

  • My ex-wife and I were divorced in 2010 and our dissolution documents were very vague concerning my military retirement. It states that "each of the parties shall be awarded, a division of their respective share of military retirement accumulated between the date of marriage and date of separation." Since there was no percentage or amount specified, she is now trying to file a new Domestic relations Order in order for me to give her a portion of my retirement. What can I do in order to make sure it is divided equitable and fair, so I do not get steamrolled in this matter?
  • We had an installer for a cable company in our house. My dog broke through the gate and bit his pants which scraped his leg. No puncture through the skin, no bleeding. Not trying to minimize what happened. It was scary. He put in a claim with his workmans comp. Now the Workmans Comp insurance company is sending us notices that we are responible to re-emburse them. The notice says "Medical Lein" Is this legal? They are being paid by the company and they also want to collect from us? The letter says I should submit a claim to my home owners insurance. Help? Thank you, J
  • I live in TX. My daughter and her mother moved to AZ 2 years ago. I paid support and maintained telephonic contact. During this time, unknown to me, the mother became a heroine addict and gave temporary custody to the grandmother. When I was informed of the situation, I attempted to gain custody of my daughter and the grandmother, who worked for Pima Co. Superior Court, filed for permanent custody. With our court date set for Nov 4th and my plane and hotel paid, the court calls me and says they changed the date. Is that even legal with less than 24 hours notice? Do I have any recourse?
