QUESTIONS

  • Hi, I've been working at a company delivering appliances to house for almost two years, at one of the delivery i end up damaging a driveway (private road sink in ) it was a thin black top road, my employer is making me pay for towing, drive way and truck damage. Can they do that? I ask them why don't they use their insurance and the answer was cause their rates will go up.
  • We had no electric in one room of our rental for 9 months. It would sometimes flicker when we jumped on the floor or slammed the door. We contacted the landlord several times to repair it. We have several text messages stating such. The cost to repair was more than 50% of our rent. We gave our 30 day notice on July 2 for August 1st after months of trying to get this repaired. Our landlord checked us out on Aug 1 stating everything was perfect and we would receive all of our deposit back in 14 business days. Our total deposit was $1850- we received $300. They stated we did not give them notice.
  • I have been verbally harassed by a company that out-sources my company to do work for them. I have a few pages documenting what has been said or name calling that has occurred ( so many names everything from "scar face, lesbian, and whore). I was wondering if this would be considered a hostile work environment?
  • Our landlord informed us this morning that her realtor lost his license and asked that my husband put in writing that we'll move out asap. She seems a little off and the whole process to get into this home was janky to begin with, it wasn't done properly to say the least. But my question is does she have the right to kick us out before our lease is up? We're never late on rent and we have had 0 issues. Now we're forced into this mess because of the ''family friend'' she had hired as her realtor... is any of this legal?
  • Am I legally required to return an engagement ring after the wedding has been called off?
  • if i quit my job because i had to leave the state am i eligible for unemployment benefits
  • Can you break a lease for constant theft/damage/ stolen vehicles snd covid 19 jobless? 1 attempted theft 2 damages to a car 1 break in (2 weeks ago) 1 stolen car now We have security to. I've lived in my complex for 2 years. Lease up in August and we are thinking of moving out of state. Yesterday our only car was stolen. Covid 19 already limited work but now fiance cannot find a job as we have no vehicle. When I called about asking to terminate early due to the thefts and covid 19 they said we'd essentially be paying 4 months (60 day notice and termination fees are about 2 months rent).
  • can they charge me for the a/cthat they put on top of the house if it is there responsabilty as the landlord to provide a/c and heating
  • Is it illegal for in-laws to throw mine and my husbands stuff away or give it away without permission. Even tho we live in there home
  • Been in same mobile home park for 4 years, living in our travel trailer. We've always paid 1 yr. in advance to receive a substantial discount due to tiered pricing. In June, we're usually offered a pre-reservation discount, but must pay the future year in advance. We've usually declined due to lack of $$ in June, but agree we will be renewing when our rental agreement is up. This year they told us they had a prospective new tenant and if we didn't renew w/1 yr advance payment...we would lose our spot. Is this legal?
