Our tenant moved out on November 29, having not paid part of October, or November. There are extensive damages to the house that exceed their security deposit. They have said that they do not have money to pay us the back rent, or for the damages above the security deposit. I'm thinking of going to small claims court for the back rent, and then going to Superior court for the damages above the security deposit in the not to distant future. Is that legally acceptable? I am in the process of collecting quotes for repairs. Thank you!

if the landlord keeps the deposit for cleaning and repairs do they have to show a recipt as well as the list of all repairs

My husband wants to adopt my daughter, which is his stepdaughter. Her father has been out of her life for 7 years and makes no contact. Would he have to give up parental right or can he adopt her without us having to contact him?

My boyfriend was supporting us him & I are no longer together . How can I get child support from the guy without him getting any legal right

I'm a landlord, I was given $500 security deposit. I even allowed them to unload their moving truck 2 days prior to signing the lease. The night we were due to sign the lease they backed out. My son was married for 10 years. She always wanted to be the one bringing in all the money. My son was given an allowance. She makes close to 60,000 a year and basically told my son to get a job the last year. He couldn't find one and she decided to ask him to leave. He left with just some stuff and nothing else. Do you think he would be able to get alimony at least for awhile? No children. He is 29 and will be looking for a job now obviously, but he was left with nothing. Ty for any advice in advance
