QUESTIONS

  • can my landlord tell me who can come to my house
  • How do I file a complaint against a lawyer?
  • I have submitted notice on 7/28/17 that we would be non-renewing our lease and it would end, as stated in our lease, on 9/12/17. This provided excess of 30 days notice as required. They did not respond until today, 8/7/17. When we moved in, our rent for Sept '16 (9/13 - 9/30) was prorated. In our notice, I stated we would be paying the pro-rated amount of our rent due on 9/1 for the 12 days we will be occupying the apartment. The management let us know that our lease will end on 9/12, but we are responsible for the entire month of Sept. rent. I am unsure. I have communicated with them by e-mail because I wanted to document it.
  • After signing my lease agreement and after moving in, my landlord had some guy come to the house to do a stucco job due to termites. We were not aware of the house having termite until after we were settled in. The guy said he would come back to work on the house because he needed the landlord signature to start the repairs. Well I guess my landlord never signed the paper because the guy never returned. It has been months and we still have termites. What can I do in this situation.
  • My mother has contacted an attorney that I had befriended and still keep in contact and use on occasion for legal issues. My younger brother has been doing home improvement projects for this attorney for several years now but has never retained. There has been an argument between myself and another family member (making false claims) and this attorney has been counseling them. Is this a violation of ethics? How could a friend/attorney represent another family member against me. This attorney is too closely related to our "business" and appears to be a HUGE CONFLICT... Please advise ASAP
  • I moved from Chicago to Phoenix.I alread recive food stamps.I am trying to switch my case to here.also I have a 4yr old child.can I apply for cash?
  • My divorce was processed in AZ, but my son and I now live in Mt. My son 16 year old son does NOT want to go back to Az for visitation with his father. What is his rights ? Does he have to go? Will I get in legal trouble if I do not force him to go ?
  • When a duplex is sold, does an existing lease insure that the price will not increase? What percentage can a new property owner increase the rent payment, upon legal ownership? A lease has been requested and not received, any recourse for the tenant?
  • My spouse was stationed as active duty in AZ, where we bought a house together and he still has an AZ driver's license, pays AZ taxes, and that house is his official address of record. Mine has changed. Can I file for divorce in AZ since he is an AZ resident (does the court consider him an AZ resident)? Thank you.
  • My father recently passed. He remarried 8 mos prior to his death. He had a will & a trust. In the trust, he left me & my brother his house which had balance. The will/trust states that his wife can live in the house "rent free" because it was supposed to paid off with the life insurance policy. It doesn't state that she has to pay the house off, but it is implied. However, it does state that she must pay the utilities, maintenance, property taxes, etc. She has yet to file the trust with the county, is giving $ to other beneficiaries & trading in his vehicle for new one. Probate or Trust Atty?
