  • Recently my ex has passed and we have a 13 year old that we shared custody of. I am not sure if I need to file with the courts or do I just take over full custody. I am her biological father and there is no one contesting me taking her.
  • My daughter works and goes to school to support her family, husband and two children. Her husband (he lost his job) agreed to stay home with the kids while She finishes school (7 more months). Now he says he can get sole custody if they separate because he has been the primary care giver for the last year. Is this true?
  • I was arrested an charged with assault. It was all based on a lie that my ex-gf told the police. My lawyer proved the lie and the charges were dropped. I spent 4 days in jail, lost my job, and spent over $10000 in legal fees. PPD won't go back and charge her. She has little money, but I want some justice. I was thinking about small claims court since I can do that on my own. Does that court handle pain and suffering claims?
  • I moved in to a rental in a vacation village in October before the cold weather hit. I signed a year lease with a property manager. The home is so poorly insulated that it cannot maintain heat. The cold air seeps through the floors and walls and I cannot keep warm. The electric is constantly running and it is costing me over 200.00 per month to heat 389 sq. ft. I also have health issues that are exacerbated by the cold. I do not feel this home is meant to be a full time residence. For health reasons, I cannot stay here. Do I have recourse to break my lease?
  • We own a ground floor condo. The condo above us is rented to some very noisy people, including loud repetitious boom-boom "music". Police have been here 4 times. What can we do? What proof is required to avoid the "he said, she said" problem? The boom-boom from morning to late night is making our home uninhabitable.
  • I have a neighbor that found a court notice slid under his door to appear in court on Monday I thought these had to be hand delivered in person and given to the person that needs to be in court or sent by certified mail am I wrong
  • How do I file a contempt of court because husband is not paying temporary spousal maint. plus he's changed titles on vehicles and property/house?
  • My employer offers IFMLA and FMLA for medical reasons I exhausted the fmla and returned to work. How does the policy impact those who have been employees already for 4plus years who may need IFMLA when they return. My medical issue is still present but the company advised I have to be working again for 12 month 1250 hours before becoming eligible is this correct? I have read other employer policies and do not see where they roll back to the original date of the first leave request.
