QUESTIONS

  • My daughters father has been absent for 5 years. He had a prior court order that allowed him visitation over 5 years ago. He completely stopped taking her or picking her up. Has not contacted her or I since then. She is now 8 and he now wants to see her again and wants shared legal etc. He is also now engaged and had a 2 year old. Is it likely he will just get visitation ? Or will I be able to get full custody ?
  • I am leasing a house threw a management company and found out that the house is in foreclosure and an auction date has already been set. The way I found out is the attorney for the lender posted the notice on our door not by the management company. I had to let them know. Am I still suppose to pay them the lease payment?
  • I should have received inheritance at age18 but have not father died and grandfather died before dad leaving inheritance
  • We have received numerous noise complaints. We addressed the issue multiple times. It was determined that the flooring was poor and that the plumbing in our apartment was broken (causes a loud banging anytime water is turned on). Leasing staff entered our apt. without permission and stated they discovered these things. We thought they found the source of the noise and would figure out a solution. Yesterday we received another 10 day noise complaint. My roommates and I are afraid of eviction and we aren't sure what the next steps should be.
  • My tenants were on a month to month, following the written lease, he gave my husband a 2 1/2 day notice yesterday that they would be leaving and not paying August rent, by law is he suppose to give a 30 day notice?
  • I have lived in my apt for 19 years now,my landlord will not fix a thing, i have asked several times, i have the same carpet it's been shampooed over & over, it's horrible when asked he said he'd have to raise my rent, isn't that his responsibility to replace it after so many years. My outside steps have giant holes, moldy when it rains and the rails all shake he refuses to fix them, do i or someone else have to get hurt first, they are very dangerous but yet pass inspection, which i know he's paying them off, what can i do?
  • the apartments where I lived took me to court for nonpayment it went to trial and was dismissed because of no show from apartments. Now what? do they not get the rent they wanted? they wouldn't process my October payment and tried to say in court that I slid it under office door(not true) and that's what took this to trial.Theres a lot more to the story, im on section 8 and only pay portion of rent. They have recognized that I pay $271.00 but still bill me $618.00 and for utilities when they are included for everyone. So again where's that leave me.
  • I am in the process of evicting a roommate. I took it to court, and have to restart the court process because the 5 day eviction notice was not certified mail. She has left all of her things for about three weeks now. At what point am I legally allowed to move her belongings to put another roommate into her old room? And what would I have to do for her property to roll over into my possession, so I can legally remove it from my home or dispose of the items?
  • My son applied for food assistance and did get a card but his balance every month is only $16.00 a month and this is not the amount he was told at his initial application. How do I find out what happened?
  • I am trying to get a contact number for the clearinghouse. I am retired military my ex wife qualifies for 42.5% of my military pay. When we the divorce was final my lawyers had the spousal maintenance taken out of my military pay instead of my civilian pay that was corrected this month now they are taking money out of my civilian pay but no one sent anything to DFAS so they are still paying her 1000 dollars a month and they are also taking 1000 from my civilian pay the court order says tha I will pay 1000 dollars a month spousal maintenance and she gets 42.5 percent of my retirement not 2000
