QUESTIONS

  • My divorce is final and has been dissolved. I was awarded the house and it’s just in my name, but he won’t leave. How can I evict him?
  • We are being evicted, our landlord served us three papers, each of which stated a different reason for eviction, loudness, smoking, non-payment of rent etc. Do her statements have to be consistent with one another? If so, can I use her inconsistency as a defence in court?
  • My boyfriend is still married to his wife, they have 3 children together. A 6 year old girl, 5 year old girl and a 2 year old boy. The mother has custody of them right now, but 4 months ago she told us she had no home for the kids to live in, no car, no job and could not take care of them. She gave us their birth certificates, social security cards, shot records everything! She has called 2-5 times in 4 months and only has seen them twice. We have put the two girls in school now and she has not helped us pay for anything. What can we do about the custody for them? Can we try for abandonment ?

  • I was served my notices and went to court with my landlord. She got a judgement against me for unpaid rent and was granted a writ of restitution to be received on 9-1-09. On the morning of 9-1-09 when I returned to the property to finish moving, she had locked the gates. My dogs were still there and I had not been served the writ by the constable. Turns out that she did not received the writ until 10:18 that morning but the gates were locked at 8:48 a.m. Does the writ have to be served or is it just given to the landlord and they can do as they please?
  • My landlord was supposed to only go into the basement threw the basement door the one day with the plumber. She ended up walking all threw my home and told me about my child's room and drawers were went threw. But she claims my 8 lb yorkie dog and pooped on the floor and this was only 3 days after I moved in . She now gave me a eviction letter because of one piece of dog poop that I did not see and was not there when I got home from work. I always keep dog in cage while I'm not home .   • My wife is permanatly disabled under social security disablity. Part of her disablitiy is problems with comprehension. Between her learning disablity and hearing impairment, she has a really hard time comunicating with doctors and insurance companies. She just can't comprehend these things. She wants me to be her Medical Power of Attorney so that she doesn't have to deal with insurance companies customer service. The only information I can find is related to seniors. Can you help us? Where to go.. who to see?

  • I have been living in my rental house for 7 months. The plumbing in the kitchen and bathtub keeps backing up and The landlord has had the plumbers out seven times and still cannot fix the problem. The plumbers told us it was bad pipes and the landlord will not spend the money to fix them. So I cannot use my washer or dryer and when I take a shower I have to stand in the water that backs up. Is that grounds to be able to break my lease?
